I haven't tried this yet but it's supposed to be a lot like Outlook from what I understand. Let me know if you've tried it and what you think.

I used it successfully on my Windows 7 computer. For the most part it works really well, and is very like Outlook Express. But I didn't figure out how to get it to display everything in the headers properly. The content of messages was fine, as was setup of new accounts and the other menus.

When I recently switched to Windows 10, I can't get OE Classic to display anything, so gave up on it. However, if someone does have tips, I'd love to use it again, because I loathe dealing with webmail!

You may be more computer savvy than I am, so give it a try.

It is free, but optional to pay to have the ad at the bottom of your outgoing messages removed.

If you are using windows 10, I strongly suggest using their native mail app. It has become way, way more accessible than it use to be with the initial launch of the operating system. It's pretty much all I use now, and I'm quite satisfied with it. I don't know how it might work with NVDA, but it's a breeze with JAWS
